Physical Education
Andrew Robbins
Physical Education Teacher
Room:
Gym
Grades Taught: Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6
Biography:
I am still fairly new to the teaching game, but I have enjoyed my experience so far. I have always been a sports person and knew I wanted to be around sports for my career. However, I never imagined that I would end up teaching. Teaching really is a blessing and I'm looking forward to continuing my career. I am soon to be married to Brooklyn Phillips who also works for St. James as an ELA/Social Studies teacher at Gramercy Elementary.
Welcome Back Letter:
Welcome back to another school year! I strive to teach students the importance of wellness, fitness, and physical activity. Gone are the days of just rolling out the ball and letting students play. I hope to instill an appreciation for activity in students whether this be through sports, activities, games, or dancing.
The United States is currently experiencing an obesity epidemic. Physical Education plays an important part in reducing the number of overweight and obese individuals. Teaching students to appreciate all different types of activity at the elementary level will lead to an increased possibility of participation in the future.
Supplies List:
K-2 Students only
- 1 composition notebook to be used as a journal.
Grades 3-6
- None due to classroom computers.
