Purpose/Vision:

         Purpose of Student Council

  1. Plan and organize activities and projects, which will foster the social growth and civic development of the SWES students in grades 4-6.
  2. Assist the school in other projects that benefit the students and the school.
  3. Give school students a voice in matters that affect them.


The Job Description for a Student Council Officer

 A student council is the body charged with representing the interests of students in a school. For example, a student council may lobby the school principal for a special event, such as a school-wide assembly. The council may also run particular programs, such as fundraisers. Students elect student council officers, which are a class-president and a class-representative for 4th-6th grade homerooms at Sixth Ward Elementary.

 

Requirements:

         Who Can Participate?

  1. Two representatives from each homeroom in grades 4-6. Each grade will be required to elect one class president and one class representative.
